Terms of Use
The Family Office Almanac
Last updated: 20 June 2026
These terms govern your use of the website at foalmanac.com ("the site"). By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
The site is operated by The Family Office Almanac ("we", "us"). Contact: contact@foalmanac.com.
1. What the Almanac is
The Almanac is an editorial, public directory of professional advisers in the family-office market. Entries are based on independent recognition published by third-party sources, and every entry records its source(s).
2. Editorial independence and how entries are decided
Inclusion and the recognition shown for each entry are determined editorially, on the basis of independent third-party sources. Listing position and recognition are never for sale. Paid products (see Commercial Terms) provide access, visibility and event participation only — they do not influence whether someone is listed, their ranking, or the recognition recorded against them. Our methodology is described at /methodology.
3. Accuracy and "no advice" disclaimer
We take reasonable care to keep the Almanac accurate and to cite sources, but:
- The site is provided for general information only and is not professional, legal, financial, tax or investment advice, and must not be relied on as such.
- We do not endorse, recommend or guarantee any listed adviser, nor the quality, suitability or outcome of any service they provide. Recognition by a third-party source is a factual signal, not a recommendation by us.
- Any engagement you enter into with a listed adviser is solely between you and that adviser. You are responsible for your own due diligence.
- We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of inaccuracies, and we may change, suspend or withdraw content at any time.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the site unlawfully or in breach of these terms;
- scrape, harvest, copy, or systematically extract the directory or any substantial part of it, or use automated means to access it, except as expressly permitted;
- reproduce, resell or republish the database or substantial parts of it (see section 5);
- misrepresent your identity in the claim/edit process, or claim a profile that is not yours;
- upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, misleading, or that contains malware;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its backend, or other users' data, or interfere with its security or operation.
5. Intellectual property
The Almanac's selection, arrangement and presentation of entries, the cross-listing methodology, the site design, text, logos and database (including database rights) are owned by The Family Office Almanac or its licensors and are protected by law. You may view and make limited personal, non-commercial use of pages. All other use requires our written permission.
Where you submit content (when claiming/editing a profile), you confirm you have the right to submit it and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and use it for the operation of the Almanac. You remain responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of what you submit. Locked fields (recognition sources, cross-listing, grade) are not user-editable, because they are the basis of the record's credibility.
6. Claiming and editing a profile
Profile claims are verified before access is granted, and submitted changes are moderated before publication. We may decline, edit or remove submitted content, and may suspend access where these terms are breached. Use of the claim/edit area is also subject to our Privacy Notice.
7. Third-party links
The site may link to third-party websites (including source sites). We are not responsible for their content or practices.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the site or from your dealings with any listed adviser, and we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss and for loss of profit, business or data.
9. Privacy and cookies
See our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; the "last updated" date shows the current version. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
11. Governing law
These terms and any dispute relating to them are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
