Simon Weil
Simon Weil is a Partner at Charles Russell Speechlys in London, specialising in tax planning, trusts, philanthropy, charities and the resolution of potentially contentious issues arising out of wills, trusts and co-ownership of property. His experience includes acting for minor beneficiaries of a Cayman Islands trust exceeding £100 million, advising parties intended as major beneficiaries under an unexecuted will involving an 80% shareholding in a property investment company, and creating heritage structures for estates with unique assets such as significant libraries involving charities.
He has pioneered real property investment pooling schemes for charities and helped develop the Absolute Return Trust for Charities. He has lectured on philanthropy, governance, charity trusteeship and charities in tax planning contexts, and has advised trustees on overseas company holdings during major reorganisations across multiple jurisdictions. He is recognised in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame.
