Richard Cassell
Richard Cassell is Of Counsel in the private client and tax team at Withers in London, having joined the firm and become a partner in 2004. He advises on US and international tax and trust and estate planning for clients based in Europe and the US, specialising in US tax strategies for individuals, international trusts and closely held business structures.
He was educated at University College London and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and as a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the US Tax Court Bar. He devotes a significant part of his practice to cross-border philanthropy, pioneered the use of dual qualified charitable structures, and co-authored The Guide to US/UK Private Wealth Tax Planning.
