Pascal Hinny is a partner at Lenz & Staehelin in Zurich, where he leads the tax practice. He joined the firm in 2002 and was promoted to partner in 2007. He specialises in national and international tax planning for corporations and individuals, covering M&A, IP structures, financing, Pillar II implementation, relocation strategies, private equity, and family office matters, and represents taxpayers in tax rulings, audits, court proceedings, and mutual agreement procedures. He also serves as an expert witness for both taxpayers and governmental bodies.

Hinny holds a Dr. iur. from the University of St. Gallen (1995), an LL.M. in Taxation from the London School of Economics (2001), and the Swiss Certified Tax Expert qualification (1998). He is a full professor of national and international tax law at the University of Fribourg, a board member of the International Fiscal Association Swiss branch, and holds editorial positions on multiple Swiss and German tax law journals. He is admitted to the Swiss Bar (1991) and works in German, English, and French.
