Matthew Brandis
Matthew Brandis is a partner and head of litigation at B P Collins LLP, based in the Thames Valley, with over 25 years of civil litigation experience and 14 consecutive years of ranking in the Chambers Guide. He leads the firm's dispute resolution team and has a particular focus on contentious probate and inheritance matters, including challenges to testamentary validity, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, and trust and estate administration disputes. He has conducted litigation across most civil divisions of the High Court and in the Court of Appeal, including the ground-breaking defamation case Westcott v Westcott.
He is ranked Band 2 for Litigation in Chambers UK (2026) and is also recognised in the Chambers High Net Worth guide (2025). He is a CEDR-accredited mediator and a member of ACTAPS. He was a finalist for Lawyer of the Year at the Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire Law Society Legal Excellence Awards (2023).
