James Sykes

James Sykes is a Partner at Saffery LLP, based in the London office. He advises wealthy private clients, including families with landed estates and growing commercial enterprises. His expertise covers succession planning and the mitigation of inheritance tax and capital gains tax liabilities, trust structuring, advising on the sale of privately owned businesses and exit planning, capital tax strategies for business owners, HMRC enquiry representation, and structuring the affairs of international families coming to the UK. He acts as a trustee for many of the families he advises and is a non-executive director of Henry Boot Plc.

He served as Chairman of Saffery from 2016 to 2024. He has been included in eprivateclient's 50 Most Influential Private Client Practitioners and ranked among the Top 5 Private Client Accountants in the UK by Spear's magazine.
