Derek Bardowell

Derek Bardowell is Co-CEO of Ten Years' Time, described as the UK's first racial justice philanthropy advisory company. His other positions include Chair Designate of The Tudor Trust and Trustee of the Thirty Percy Foundation, and he is a former trustee of Sir Lewis Hamilton's Mission 44. Previously he directed portfolios for the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, Laureus Sport for Good and the National Lottery Community Fund, distributing over GBP 150m across 34 countries, and was Director of Learning at the Stephen Lawrence Trust.

He helped establish the Church Commissioners for England's GBP 100m Fund for Healing, Repair and Justice and supported the creation of the Baobab Foundation, the Phoenix Way Partnership, Resourcing Racial Justice and the Film & TV Charity's Reel Impact Fund. He hosts the podcast Just Cause and is the author of No Win Race and Giving Back: How to Do Good Better. He has been named a Spear's 500 Top Recommended Philanthropy Advisor (2023 and 2024), a Knowledge Equity Fellow at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, University of Oxford (2020), and a Churchill Fellow (2014).
