Catherine Calder

Catherine Calder is Joint Chief Executive of Serjeants' Inn Chambers, the specialist set focused on high-stakes cases involving significant legal, ethical, and social issues. She brings nearly 30 years of experience across private practice, in-house roles, and the Bar, working as a solicitor and in management and client relationship positions across commercial, chancery, civil, and public law. She trained at Macfarlanes, subsequently moved in-house to the Saatchi Group, then joined Radcliffe Chambers in 1999 as one of the first former solicitors at a barristers' chambers.

Catherine joined Serjeants' Inn's Senior Management Team in July 2014, leading the staff team, overseeing strategy and management, and directing client service. She was named Innovator of the Year at the 2020 Women in Law Awards and Chambers Leader of the Year at the Legal 500 UK Bar Awards 2023. Instructing solicitors quoted in Chambers UK describe her as "seriously impressive and stunningly efficient".
